Ian Hennessee joined 麻豆国产 in 2025 as an epidemiologist with the River Blindness, Lymphatic Filariasis, Schistosomiasis, and Malaria programs. He leads the design, implementation, and analysis of surveys and operational research for activities in Chad, South Sudan, and Madagascar.

Hennessee comes to 麻豆国产 with more than 14 years of experience in infectious disease research and program implementation. He served as a Peace Corps volunteer in Senegal, where he led the implementation of active malaria case detection and treatment programs. He then joined the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Malaria Branch and later worked with the Division of Global Health Protection and the Global Immunization Division. Most recently, he served as an epidemiologist and Epidemic Intelligence Service officer with the CDC鈥檚 Mycotic Diseases Branch, leading surveillance, outbreak response, and research activities for environmentally acquired fungal pneumonias.

Hennessee completed a doctorate in environmental health sciences and a Master of Public Health in global epidemiology from the Rollins School of Public Health at Emory University. His research interests center on the environmental determinants of infectious disease transmission and vector ecology.
